AHCCCS Scholarships for Health Care Students Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and Eastern Arizona College (EAC) have partnered to bring aid to students. The State of Arizona created this program to help students with the cost of attendance, so students can comfortably gain the skills and education needed to become skilled workers in behavioral health and long-term care. This program is for students pursuing approved pathways in Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) behavioral health and Direct Care Workers (DCW). Scholarship funds may cover the Cost of Attendance including: tuition, fees, books & required supplies. Criteria to qualify ~ Be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Alien admitted as a Refugee. ~ High School graduate or have completed a GED certificate. ~ Students must commit to work for an Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) behavioral health or long-term care provider organization. Home and Community-Based Services help with daily activities while allowing many individuals to remain in their homes or live with their families by reducing the need for institutional care. ~ Declare a major in one of the eligible majors, program of study or class. ~ Students who already received funding for the fall semester DO NOT need to reapply but will automatically requalify if they continue to meet all eligibility requirements
